Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 22, 2026
True Labs, Inc. ("True Labs," "we," "us," or "our") operates Ohana TV, including the Ohana TV website, family dashboard, tvOS app, and Android TV app for Google TV devices (together, the "Service"). This policy describes information the Service handles, how it is used, and the choices available to you.
Information you provide
- Account information: your email address and password authentication data. The dashboard derives a password verifier in your browser; the Service stores salted password-derived values rather than your original password.
- TV and pairing information: TV names and identifiers, pairing data, and credentials used to connect a paired TV to your account.
- Display settings: calendar names and subscription URLs, a photo album URL, and the note you choose to show on a TV. These URLs may contain access tokens or otherwise allow access to content, so treat them as private.
- Support messages: information you choose to include when you contact us.
Information on your devices
The dashboard keeps its sign-in token in your browser's local storage until you sign out or clear browser storage. The tvOS app keeps its connection credentials and settings on the Apple TV. The Android TV app keeps its connection credentials, settings, and any optional Google Photos connection information on that TV. Calendar event data is fetched by each app from the calendar URLs you provide and cached on the TV; the backend stores the URLs and settings, not the calendar event contents. The apps retrieve shared album data and photos from Apple, Google Photos, or the photo hosts used by the album. Photo files are not stored in the Ohana TV backend. For the optional Google Photos library connection on Android TV, you authorize Google on your TV and select albums in Google Photos; the TV stores the Google connection token and device identifier locally and uses them to request photos from Google. Ohana TV’s dashboard backend does not receive those Google sign-in credentials or Google Photos library contents.
How we use information
We use this information to create and secure accounts, pair TVs, save and deliver the settings you choose, show calendars, photos, and notes on your TVs, respond to support requests, and operate and protect the Service. Ohana TV does not include advertising or analytics features in the current app and dashboard.
Service providers and other services
Ohana TV uses Cloudflare to host the website and backend and store account and TV settings. Cloudflare may process network and request information, such as IP address and request metadata, to deliver and protect the Service. Resend delivers password-recovery emails and processes the email address and message content needed to send them. Cloudflare's and Resend's own privacy terms apply to their processing. When your TV fetches a calendar or shared album, it connects to the provider named by the URL you supplied. Google Photos shared-album links and the optional Google Photos library connection send requests to Google; Google may process account, device, and request information under its own privacy terms. Apple and other calendar or photo providers may likewise receive connection information from your TV and handle it under their own policies. We do not control their practices.
We may also disclose information where needed to protect the Service and its users, comply with law, respond to valid legal process, or complete a corporate transaction, subject to applicable law.
Retention and deletion
Account information remains in the backend while the account exists. You can delete your account from your profile page after signing in and confirming your password; this removes the account, paired TV configurations and credentials, and active dashboard sessions. You can also request account deletion by sending an email to accounts@ohanatv.com. Password reset links expire after 30 minutes and can be used once. Unpairing a TV removes that TV's configuration and device connection from the backend. Pairing codes expire after 10 minutes; account sessions expire after 30 days; paired TV credentials and configuration expire after up to one year unless refreshed. Some records may be retained when needed for security, legal obligations, or resolving disputes.
Security
We use HTTPS for dashboard and backend connections and store password-derived authentication values rather than plaintext passwords. No online service can guarantee perfect security. Keep your account credentials and calendar and album links private, and contact us if you believe an account or TV connection has been accessed without permission.
Children and family information
Ohana TV accounts and dashboard controls are intended for adults managing a family display. Children may appear in photos, calendars, or notes that an adult chooses to show on a TV; please use care when adding that information. Children should not create dashboard accounts. If you believe a child has provided account information directly to us, contact privacy@ohanatv.com.
Your choices and privacy requests
You can update or remove TV settings, calendars, and notes in the dashboard and unpair a TV from your account. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information, or to object to or limit certain processing. To make a privacy request, email privacy@ohanatv.com. We will review and respond as required by applicable law.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy as the Service changes. We will post the revised policy here and update its revision date. For privacy questions or requests, contact True Labs, Inc. at privacy@ohanatv.com.
